- Project Portfolio Management Analysis With iPursuit
There are two components to Project Portfolio Management. The first is an
Enterprise Project Management engine like Dekker TRAKKER® that completely
integrates scheduling, resourcing, costing, accounting, financial
management, EVM and performance measurement techniques. The second is an
information distribution engine that is able to rapidly deploy information
throughout the entire business unit. This is what Dekker iPursuit® is
designed to do. Senior executives to line-employees can use and analyze
project management information at any level of the organization. Attendees
reviewed the analysis reporting capabilities of iPursuit and how to
structure its digital dashboards in a way that is meaningful to each
individual’s need for information. All iPursuit analysis techniques,
including scheduling, resourcing, costing, EVM and performance measurement
were covered. The theory and practical adaptation of each analysis technique
was reviewed so that iPursuit users can maximize the benefit of this
powerful PPM analysis tool.
- Using Sort Select & Summarize with Excel
Due to popular demand, both Dekker TRAKKER® and Dekker iPursuit® have
incorporated Microsoft® Excel as a core component for informational views
and reporting displays. Sort, Select, and Summarize (SSS) harnesses the
power of any data source creating smart-spreadsheet views. This course
focused on the application of SSS to empower users to create any desired
view of their information. Attendees learned how to navigate the SSS tool,
how to effortlessly extract and organize information for analysis through
Excel, and how to tailor spreadsheets so that the right information gets
presented to the right people at the right time.
- Dekker TRAKKER® and Dekker iPursuit® Integration
Dekker iPursuit® can capture data from a wide array of data sources like
Microsoft Project, X-12 EDI, X-12 Extended EDI, XML and various other
project management applications. Coupled with iPursuit's full integration
with the Dekker TRAKKER® Enterprise Project Management System, project
oriented business units are provided with unsurpassed PPM capabilities.
Attendees learned the overriding benefits of a TRAKKER and iPursuit
combination, integration to Microsoft® Office, data organization and scope,
process steps, Dekker DigiSense™ and Dekker iGauge™ Dashboard
configurations, and how to get the most out of analysis reports and graphs
for a high-performance organization.
- Using Microsoft® Project As A PPM Engine
Microsoft® Project is the most widely used project management system in the
world. The extensive data available in MS Project can be used as a PPM
engine. In addition, MS Project coupled with Dekker iPursuit® can
accommodate all levels of project planning, analysis, and performance
measurement, including US Government EVM requirements. Attendees learned the
basic PPM attributes of MS Project, scheduling, resourcing, costing,
statusing, analysis of enterprise project management data and integrating
subcontractor data into the enterprise environment. This course was designed
to expose project management professionals and executives to the latest
trends in project and program management.
- Project Portfolio Management Workshop
Project management is evolving from separate disciplines to a completely
integrated management information strategy. In years past, organizations
allowed individual projects to be executed independent of accounting and
other performance management systems. The Project Portfolio Management (PPM)
Workshop examined the challenges and benefits of integrating all aspects of
project management in the enterprise environment. Fast-paced business units
involved in widely dispersed operations are integrating scheduling,
resource, cost, performance measurement and accounting data to gain a
competitive edge while complying with legal and regulatory requirements such
as Sarbanes-Oxley and OMB Circular A-11 Part 7. This course examined the
elements of PPM and its implementation. Attendees learned the definition of
PPM, the components of a sound system, enterprise considerations, isles of
excellence approach, and benefits.
