Isaac Maya, Ph.D., P.E.

As Dekker University’s Director of Curriculum, Dr. Isaac Maya ensures that our courses address the latest issues influencing the contemporary discipline of project management, both in theory and in real-world application. With over 27 years experience in high technology program management and education, Dr. Maya is one of the leading experts in program and project management and instruction.

Dr. Maya’s experience ranges from the academic and commercial arenas to the public sector. Having served as a director for various research and development programs, Dr. Maya has extensive experience in information technology and nuclear systems. He has spent the last eight years at the University of Southern California as both Director of Research at the CREATE Homeland Security Center and as Director of Industry and Technology Transfer Programs at the Integrated Media Systems Center. Prior to these prestigious positions, Dr. Maya served as an executive and program manager in information technology, transportation, nuclear systems and manufacturing programs.

Dr. Maya was a finalist for Astronaut Candidate selection, and is a Fellow with the NASA Center for Program/Project Management. He has developed 10 inventions in the chemical engineering, electronics, medical and nuclear fields. Dr. Maya has developed and delivered graduate-level courseware on engineering program management and has been extensively published in his areas of expertise.

Dr. Maya brings to Dekker University in-depth experience in the academic, government and business arenas of project management. His expertise and breadth of knowledge are integral to his recruitment of skilled instructor-practitioners to Dekker University’s ranks.
