Over 750 Register for Dekker Seminar Series Events Nationwide
The 2009-2010 Dekker Seminar Series, featuring the topic Earned Value Management with Microsoft Project, concluded in May after providing program and project management training for over 750 registrants in 12 cities. The 2010-2011 season will begin soon, featuring new topics and opportunities to see Dekker’s latest product offerings in action.
These nationwide events are designed to help the Dekker user community stay in close connection with the company, and offer valuable opportunities to the larger program and project management community. The 16 Dekker Seminar Series events that made up the 2009-2010 season offered no-cost half-day training sessions for professionals in a wide variety of industries. All attendees received completion certificates and earned three Project Management Institute Professional Development Units (PDUs).
The Earned Value Management with Microsoft Project seminar provided attendees with a comprehensive look at the concepts behind Earned Value Management, including common terminology and calculations, then looked at how Microsoft Project, in conjunction with Dekker PMIS™ (Program Management Information System) software tools, can provide compliant Earned Value reporting and project tracking. These Seminars brought together a strong mix of individuals, from those with expert-level EVM knowledge to those being introduced to many concepts for the first time. This dynamic resulted in classes eager to actively engage with the material being presented, and it speaks to the growing influence EVM is asserting in the marketplace.

The Dekker Seminar Series grew out of the Dekker University training curriculum, and the annual Dekker PPM Forum event, where industry leaders and Dekker customers have a chance to come together for a week each year. As a PMI Registered Education Provider, all Dekker course offerings adhere to the highest standards of content and instruction, and earn attendees PDUs necessary for accreditation.
